12 “For this reason, rejoice, O heavens and you who dwell in them. WOE to the earth and the sea, because the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, knowing that he has only a short time.”

((Let me start off by saying everyone needs to read chapter 12 in its entirety today. It is a summation of world history from God's perspective and can be both encouraging and troubling. God Showed it to John and instructed Him to write it down so we would have it for our benefit.))
Now what is the "For" in Vs 1 referring to? In Vs 10 we are told that the accuser, (satan), has been thrown down to earth. So for that reason God says "REJOICE, O HEAVENS AND YOU WHO DWELL IN THEM." ((Who? Those who dwell in heaven were satan had just been thrown down from. Now we continue in Vs12, Woe to the earth and sea, ((why was this WOE pronounced? Continue reading Vs12,)) "BECAUSE THE DEVIL HAS COME DOWN TO YOU, HAVING GREAT WRATH, KNOWING HE HAS ONLY A SHORT TIME."
((Yea we have a WOE because not only has satan been cast down to the earth but he has GREAT WRATH and he knows his time is SHORT. In verse 11 we have some very encouraging words. Words we need to take to heart and hold on to.))
11 “And they overcame him, (satan), because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life even when faced with death.
